The Lenches Community Facebook group
A good deal of day-to-day village chatter happens in The Lenches Community, a private Facebook group run by local volunteers: lost cats, road closures, recommendations and things for sale. You'll need to ask to join.
With the admins' blessing, we pick up events and notices from the group for this site and the Thursday newsletter, credited to the group.

Submit something for the newsletter
Got an event, notice or bit of news? Email it to website@thelenches.org.uk. It goes in Thursday's newsletter and here on the site.
What we cover
The five Lenches (Church Lench, Rous Lench, Ab Lench, Atch Lench and Sheriffs Lench) and the nearby villages and hamlets of Harvington, Abbots Morton, Lenchwick and Radford. We also include events of clear interest to local residents in Evesham, Pershore and Inkberrow.
What we don't include
- Party-political material.
- Commercial advertising.
- Classified adverts (items for sale or wanted, lettings, jobs or personal services).
- Anonymous or unverified material. Please tell us your name or the group you're writing for.
Deadline
Send items by Wednesday 6pm for that Thursday's newsletter. Anything arriving later will be considered for the following week.
What to send
A short paragraph covering:
- What is happening
- Where (which village, and the venue)
- When (date and time)
- Cost (or that it's free)
- Contact (a name, email or phone number for enquiries)
A poster or photo is welcome: photos (JPEG, PNG or straight from an iPhone) or a PDF flyer. We can't use Word or Publisher files, so please save those as a PDF first.
When items appear
- Events appear no more than two weeks before they take place. Larger events may get one earlier "save the date" mention.
- The website lists an event until its date.
- The newsletter shows an item up to three times.
- A flyer or poster image is shown no more than twice in total.
- Sending an item again doesn't reset these limits.
Photos
Only send photos you have permission to share. Everyone pictured should be happy for the photo to be published, and a parent or guardian must agree for any children.
What happens next
We'll acknowledge your email. If any details are missing we'll ask for them; if we don't hear back by Wednesday 6pm we'll go ahead with the details we have.
If you'd like your item published exactly as you wrote it, say "please use my wording" in your email. We'll only correct obvious typos and broken links.
The team may edit items for length and style, and decides what is included.
The Thursday newsletter
Free, and sent every Thursday morning. To join, email website@thelenches.org.uk and ask to be added.
