Collection days are shown here automatically — if nothing appears, check your bin day at Wychavon.
Bins out by 7am on the day, at the boundary of your property nearest the road, with the lid closed — crews may leave a bin whose lid won't shut.
What goes where
Green bin — recycling
Everything must be clean, dry and loose. A bin with black sacks inside won't be collected, even if the sacks are full of recycling.
Cans, tins and foil
Food and pet food tins, drinks cans, aerosols, sweet and biscuit tins, metal jar lids. Clean aluminium foil and foil trays — scrunch foil into a ball, or small pieces get lost in sorting. Aluminium tubes such as tomato purée.
No saucepans, cutlery or tools; no foil pouches or coffee pods; don't flatten cans.
Glass bottles and jars
All colours. Lids can stay on, labels can stay on. Also fragrance bottles and make-up or moisturiser jars.
No drinking glasses, Pyrex or window glass, and no nail varnish bottles. If you're on a sack collection, glass can't go in the sack — use a bank or the tip.
Plastic bottles, pots, tubs and trays
Drinks, milk, detergent, bleach, shampoo and shower gel bottles; yoghurt and margarine pots; meat, ready meal and fruit trays; plant pots. Plastic tubes such as toothpaste and hand cream — squeeze out and put the lid back on.
No black plastic, no film or bags, no pump tops or trigger sprays, no hard plastics or toys. Screw bottle tops back on rather than binning them loose.
Paper
Newspapers, magazines, catalogues, junk mail, letters, envelopes and greetings cards. Shredded paper only if it's contained inside another paper item — a cereal box or envelope.
No glittery cards or metallic wrapping paper, no sticky labels, nothing food-stained.
Cardboard
Packaging, cereal and pet food boxes, ready meal sleeves, egg boxes, kitchen and toilet roll tubes. Flatten boxes and tubes.
Take out any film, bags or polystyrene first, and leave greasy pizza boxes for the black bin.
Cartons
Milk, juice, smoothie, soup, passata, custard and UHT cartons. Flatten them. Plastic spouts can stay on; lids come off but can go in the bin separately.
Black bin — everything else
General household rubbish, including food waste — there's no separate food collection here yet.
Also black plastic, cling film and soft plastics, crisp packets and sweet wrappers, foil pouches, coffee pods, drinking glasses and Pyrex, and pump tops and trigger sprays.
Soft plastics can go to the carrier bag recycling point at larger supermarkets in the meantime. Wychavon expects to collect plastic film from the kerbside from spring 2027.
Alongside the black bin, not in it
Batteries
In a small plastic bag placed on top of the black bin. Crews put them in a separate cage on the lorry. Most supermarkets take them too.
Small electricals
Anything with a plug, a battery or a crossed-out wheelie bin symbol. On top of or beside the bin — never inside it, and never in the recycling.
Textiles
Clean, dry clothing, bed sheets and towels in a securely tied bag next to the bin, so they survive the rain. Anything still good is better off at a charity shop.
Brown bin — garden waste
A paid subscription service, so it only applies if you've signed up. Where it runs, it's collected on the same day as the green bin.
Some rural properties are given sacks rather than wheelie bins. Collection days are the same either way.
Recycling banks nearby
If you have a green bin you don't need these — paper, glass, card and cans all go in the bin. They're useful for sack households and for overflow.

Monday to Saturday 8am–6pm, Sunday 9am–1.30pm. No booking needed for cars, but you'll need proof of a Worcestershire address. Opening hours change seasonally, so it's worth checking before you set out.
Vans, trailers and pickups need an e-permit from Worcestershire County Council.
